For over a decade, Schindler has relied on SAP SuccessFactors to manage our HR processes. In our latest initiative, we’ve taken significant strides to optimize our performance and compensation processes with an automated solution tailored to their company’s needs.

Schindler needed a solution to streamline their performance management and compensation planning processes. There was the need to integrate Continuous Performance Management with Goal Management and ensure effective Variable Pay and Compensation Planning integration.

What did we do?

We revised Schindler’s process for 2024 with an automated goal creation method that simplifies the complex, manual processes they previously endured. This method was developed to reduce the administrative burden and improve accuracy in goal alignment across the company. Key features of this new automated process include:

Centralized Goal Planning

Unlike the previous manual system where goals were individually set for each business unit, we now upload goals into one central plan for Schindler. This streamlined approach has drastically cut down the time spent on goal setting.

Tailored Goals Across Levels

We implemented a sophisticated rule-based engine that automatically customizes goals for different branches and levels within Schindler, from the headquarters down to individual business units. This ensures that each part of their organization has relevant and strategically aligned goals.

Efficiency and Cost Savings

The new system has halved the time required to manage goal plans, which is particularly beneficial given Schindler’s large employee base. The reduction in time and effort has translated into significant cost savings and increased operational efficiency.

Enhanced Integration of Performance, Compensation, and Variable Pay

We also enhanced the integration with Variable Pay and Compensation Planning for Schindler. This integration directly informs compensation and bonus decisions for a seamless connection between performance, rewards, and company objectives.
